Programmer/Control Systems Engineer

Description:
This position is for a programmer and electrical designer of industrial process control systems. The candidate will be developing process control system applications utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems.

The position involves the following work responsibilities:

• Development of detailed specifications
• Hardware and software design of process control systems
• Programming of industrial control systems
• Development and execution of test packages

Skills and Experiences:

• BS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley products required (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500, RSView, PanelView Plus, RSBizWare RSBatch, etc.).
• Experience programming various other control systems desired (i.e., GE Fanuc Series 90, Siemens S7, DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Honeywell DCS, Intellution iFix, and Wonderware).
• Experience implementing control system electrical design packages required.
• Instrumentation experience is desired.
• GMP and validation experience desired.
• Must be available for some regional project travel.
• Outgoing personality, excellent leadership and communication skills required

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, the applicant must define in their resume or cover letter their relevant programming experience related to industrial control systems – PLC and/or DCS platforms.  Include the manufacture and model number of the control system and development software packages you have experience with.

The position requires proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and an understanding of process control. Candidates with programming experience in Emerson DeltaV and ABB 800xA are desired. Control system validation experience of pharmaceutical/biotech systems is a significant advantage.  Experience working in a lead role is also an advantage.

Applicant must have 3 years working experience with a BS in an engineering or other equivalent technical experience. Excellent verbal and written skills required.
