Originally from France, Stan Reyna studied electrical engineering at the National Engineering School of ENSEM in Nancy, France.  Stan’s first job in the U.S. was with Certainteed as an assistant financial analyst, where he learned about finance in a manufacturing setting.   Stan later returned to France and spent several years as an automation technical manager at a shipbuilding plant, working on some of the most impressive cruise ships of the day.   A Banks Integration employee now for 13 years and counting, Stan is the company’s Director of Operations in the Vacaville, California office.

Stan ReynaStan Reyna was born and raised in the Southwest of France, in Albi, near the city of Toulouse. As a child, he enjoyed spending time at his grandparents’ farm, near Carcassonne. There, he helped his Spanish grandparents care for the vineyards and assisted in their blacksmith shop. “I always admired the hard work and tenacity it took for my grandparents to make a nice life for themselves in France.”

Stan followed in his father’s footsteps and studied electrical engineering at the National Engineering School of ENSEM in Nancy, France.   Throughout his education, Stan studied multiple languages.  Besides his fluency in French and English, Stan studied Latin for six years, and German for seven years, spending two summers there becoming fluent.  After his graduation from the National Engineering School, Stan enrolled in a sixteen-month voluntary service internship with the French government.

Stan was given the opportunity to go to Minnesota (go Vikings!) and work for Certainteed. There he learned what it was like working with a variety of people in a new environment. Upon his arrival to the company, he was asked to fill an unexpected vacancy as a financial analyst assistant. Stan learned to monitor production and prepare budgets for the plant. “Working for Certainteed showed me the importance of all the financial responsibilities behind operations.”

Stan returned home to France and began building cruise ships for Alstom at one of the largest shipyards in Europe. He found the challenges of ship building fascinating and his love for engineering really took off. Working as an electrical construction supervisor, Stan was quickly promoted to automation technical manager. During this time Stan worked on several ships, including the Celebrity Millennium, Crystal Serenity and the Queen Mary II. “This was an incredible experience in my formative years,” he said.

After marrying his wife Karen and having their two children in France, the couple was ready to start a new life in California. In 2003, just days after their second child was born, Stan was hired at Banks Integration Group in Vacaville, CA.

“Stan has the experience and skill set to manage complex automation projects with a diverse group of customers and employees, and with his finance background, he has the business acumen to lead our Vacaville office. Stan truly brings a unique skill set to our organization,” said Greg Banks, president of Banks Integration Group.

Working for Banks Integration Group for a total of 13 years, Stan has moved up through the ranks and is currently the Director of Operations. In this role, Stan promotes the company’s mission and vision, and provides the necessary leadership and direction required to maintain the schedule, operating efficiency, quality, and employee and customer satisfaction we have been known for. His role includes hiring and promoting talent while creating a learning and development culture where knowledge sharing is prevalent.

Through the years, Stan has been involved in many automation life sciences projects, being involved in all the engineering stages such as detailed documentation, hardware design, software development, and startup, as well as in project management execution including proposals and sales.

“I find automation in the life sciences industry to be rewarding, fascinating and educational. Rewarding, because you are improving processes to allow the patient to have access to medicine that can help them live better and longer. Fascinating, because of the variety and the complexity of some of our customers’ control systems. Educational because automation technology keeps evolving and changing,” Stan says.

“I like that Banks Integration is a company founded by an engineer for engineers. The company reputation has been built around quality, technical ability, and transparency to its employees and customers. Over the years, the company has valued diversity, work/life balance, career opportunities and collaboration.”

Stan and his family enjoy road trips through the US and Canada, skiing in the nearby Lake Tahoe resorts and going on cruises. Stan spends his free time playing tennis and golf, and working on his old BMW.
